ver the past ten years Mims Studios, in Southern Pines, North Carolina has held a unique position in the revival of atelier training.  It has set a standard of excellence in Classical Realism and introduced programs designed to reanimate the great European traditions of mural painting.

 

We are proud to announce the creation of the Academy of Classical Design in 2011. Built on the foundation of what was begun at Mims Studios, the mission of the new Academy is dedicated to the education of artists in the preservation and practice of classical visual design.

 

The Academy of Classical Design is positioned to further its educational goals through expanded programs and contacts with other organizations dedicated to influencing the environment of modern life with a heightened sense of beauty and design.
