Eisenhower Memorial

Eisenhower Memorial - Washington, DC

This spring, the National Civic Art Society and the Mid-Atlantic chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art, invited classical architects to design a counterproposal to a proposed controversial design for a national monument to President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

First Prize was awarded to Daniel Cook, from Atlanta, Georgia.

The Classical Design Foundation endorses and congratulates the achievement of such an important cultural statement. The hope has been expressed that this competition will continue to encourage dialogue among the general public about the meaning and dignity of designs appropriate for public monuments
