Fine Art Connoisseur

The July/August issue of Fine Art Connoisseur features the work of D. Jeffrey Mims on its cover, with an article written by the artist describing his recent Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome awarded by the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America.

“To divide space, and then ornament it, is the underlying foundation of each of the fine arts. Understanding design in this way, an artist like Michelangelo was able to direct his genius to create variations of ornament, the decoration of a ceiling, the construction of a cupola, or even the arrangement of an entire public space.”
